Praise God for His
everlasting mercy.
Psalm 118: 1
`Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures
forever.`
I ask you this question, for whom does His mercy endure forever?
It endures for those who love Him and have received His Son Jesus
Christ as their saviour. In the book of John. chapter 3:16 Jesus
tells us, `For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten
son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but shall have
everlasting life.` The next verse tells us that `Jesus did not come
to condemn us but to save us`, to bring us under God’s everlasting
mercy.
Paul the apostle writing to the church in says in chapter 10:9-10,
`If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For
with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation`. It is those who have been born
again or come to faith in Jesus that are under God’s mercy.
Let us return to Psalm 118,
There we read `Let Israel now say---`, that is speaking of the
nation. Again we read, `Let the house of Aaron now say --`, that is
speaking of the priesthood and `Let those who fear the Lord now
say--` I believe that is speaking of all who receive Jesus as Lord
and Saviour.

God Bless.

Skipton Christian Fellowship Church is a
friendly, warm and welcoming church. People of all ages meet together,
each from different backgrounds and ethnic origins, single, married,
divorced or widowed, but united in their belief that the Bible is the
inspired Word of God and that Jesus, God’s Son was the ultimate
sacrifice for our sins.
We love to sing and praise our Lord Jesus because He made us, along
with the church worldwide, His children. He has given the Holy Spirit
to lead and guide us in our daily walk with Him. Our Father God tells
us that He will never leave us nor will He forsake us, what a blessing
that, imperfect as we are, He will be there to help us on our journey
through life. |
